KYLIE Whitten WESTERBECK
Hailing from Fredericksburg, VA, Kylie Westerbeck is a New York City based performance artist. She is currently pursuing her Acting MFA at Juilliard (Group 56).
Prior to coming to Juilliard, Kylie pursued her acting career in the Philadelphia area. Professional credits include The Lydie Breeze Trilogy, Curse of the Starving Class, Nocturne, The Women, Company (EgoPo Classic), Witness for the Prosecution (Bristol Riverside Theatre), and Our Town (People’s Light). She produced several works including her original musical Complexity, making its world premiere in the 2016 DC Fringe Festival. In 2018, Kylie premiered her one-woman clown show “PEG!” in the Philly Fringe being claimed "refreshingly hilarious and unpretentious” (Cofta, Broad Street Review, 2018). This past summer, Kylie collaborated with Melanie Stewart of Blind Faith Theatre to take their show I SEE YOU WATCHING to the Edinburgh Fringe where she performed 26 shows in a row and was received highly by audience.
Kylie was the Artistic Associate at Eagle Theatre in Hammonton, New Jersey. She soon became the Director of Education where she taught grades K-12, led summer camps, production managed, and developed programming for the Hammonton community. She additionally taught grades 3-6 with ASAP Philly. Her initial love for arts administration began in middle school when she worked for Stage Door Productions in Fredericksburg, VA as a house manager.
She is a 2018 Summa Cum Laude graduate of Rowan University, where she obtained a B.A. in Theatre Arts with a concentration in Acting. She was a finalist in the 2017 KCACTF Irene Ryan Acting Competition and received the Ann B. Ward Medallion for the College of Performing Arts upon graduating for her work and involvement across several artistic mediums. In addition to Rowan, Kylie has studied clown/Le Jeu with Philippe Gaulier at his private school in Étampes, France. She was an arts administration intern with Pig Iron Theatre Company in Philadelphia and has taken a devising for social change workshop with People’s Theatre Project in Washington Heights, NYC.
In addition to theatre and acting, Kylie has released two EP’s on all major streaming platforms. Bellow, Kylie’s debut EP and Summertime. Bellow was produced at Rowan University (Glassboro, NJ) and Summertime was produced at Cambridge Sound Studios (Philadelphia, PA). Both were under the sound production of Mike Parisi, with backing band: Tim W. Smith (Drums), Mike Parisi (Bass, Piano), Zach Birnbaum (Guitar on Bellow), and Patrick Oberstaedt (Trumpet, Guitar, Bass).
